First Public Hearing

  • Harold Pate Courthouse Annex 1725 Reynolds Street Brunswick, GA, 31520 United States (map)

The community is invited to participate in the upcoming comprehensive planning process for the future of Glynn County.

This planning process is meant to develop strategies for sustainable growth and prioritize appropriate expenditures of funds to coordinate future development efforts. This plan will focus on issues of population, economic development, housing, natural and cultural resources, community facilities, land use, intergovernmental coordination, and transportation. It is anticipated that a draft will be available for public comment in August of 2023.

This will be an opportunity for any and all in the community to share ideas, voice concerns, and impress their vision regarding the direction of Glynn County over the near future. In addition to this, the Coastal Regional Commission’s Planning Staff will be present to lay out the planning process and highlight main areas of focus that have been identified for discussion by the Steering Committee. Glynn County encourages all interested persons and parties to take part in this once per five-year process. The initial public hearing will be held at 2:00 PM on January 17th, 2023 at 1725 Reynolds Street, Brunswick, GA 31520. It will be held at the Harold Pate Courthouse Annex Room 224 as part of a scheduled work session.

Citizens who are unable to attend but which would like to provide public comments regarding the plan are encouraged to reach out to Ian Kellett, Regional Planner, at (912) 514-1637 or ikellett@crc.ga.gov or Aaron Carpenter, Planning Director, at (912) 223-9258 or acarpenter@crc.ga.gov.
